Residential Building on the Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City

ULMA's comprehensive solution at Mexico's most important avenue
The Paseo de la Reforma is Mexico City's most important avenue and one of the most famous in the world.

Description

The Paseo de la Reforma is Mexico City's most important avenue and one of the most famous in the world. Many important buildings and monuments are located along the Paseo such as the Torre Mayor, the tallest building of the city and the world-renowned Angel of Independence. ULMA takes part in the construction of a property of high architectural value on this emblematic avenue. This residential building located opposite the Angel Tower was designed by the prestigious architects Nuño, MacGregor, De Buen and built by Grupo Impulsa. There will be 10 flats, one per floor.

ULMA Solution

ULMA provided a comprehensive solution for this reinforced concrete building. The walls were built with the complete range of NEVI formwork in conjunction with H-120 walers and push-pull props wherever the high concrete pressure required it. The most relevant solution was the one for the perimeter walls. The neighbouring buildings at a 30 cm distance impeded the use of a climbing system. Instead steel trusses consisting of H-120 walers and push-pull props were erected inside the building as support for the hanging two sides of the ORMA formwork.

The slabs were shored with two different shoring systems: slab heights of 6-8 m with BRIO Shoring and heights of 3.60 m with G Shoring. For the circular beams and balconies of the central shaft, the versatility of the BRIO Shoring was required. As slab formwork ENKOFLEX was used.

The circular beam of the central shaft was built with FLECTOR formwork, greatly contributing to solving one of the most critical areas with an optimal result.
