Description
Located in Strykow, the junction of motorways A1 (north-south) and A2 (east-west) is the second largest of Poland with estimated 130 thousand vehicles per day.
In addition to the construction of the A1 and A2 stretches (5 and 2.5 km), an 18 km access road, 10 viaducts, sewerage under the motorways, connecting roads and exits had to be built.
ULMA solution
Apart from providing formwork for all structures of the project, ULMA took on the challenge of carrying out all jobs simultaneously and in shorter lead limes.
The largest structure of this intersection is the Viaduct WA-244 on A1, over the A2. Its 3 sections, with 18 m wide and 100 m long carriageways, are supported at its ends and in the middle of the span.
ALUPROP and T-60 towers with heights between 7.2 and 8.5 m were used as shoring along most of the viaduct length. ENKOFORM HMK was used to form the bridge deck, and modular formwork for the abutments. For the rest of structures, the same technology and formwork systems were used.
